The NBCUniversal streaming service is hiking monthly plan prices by $1 to $3, effective Tuesday for new and returning subscribers

Peacock is raising prices across all six of its subscription plans, with increases taking effect Tuesday for new and returning customers.

The NBCUniversal streaming service's cheapest tier, Peacock Select, rises from $7.99 to $8.99 per month. The ad-supported Peacock Premium plan increases from $10.99 to $12.99 per month, while the ad-free Peacock Premium Plus plan goes from $16.99 to $19.99 per month. Annual plans are also increasing: Select from $79.99 to $89.99 per year, Premium from $109.99 to $129.99 per year, and Premium Plus from $169.99 to $199.99 per year, the company said.

For existing subscribers, the higher prices will apply starting with the first billing cycle that falls on or after September 17. Anyone currently on a promotional rate will continue paying that rate through the end of their promotion.

"These price changes allow Peacock to continue to create the best experience for its viewers, remain competitive in the marketplace, and deliver unique content across all genres," the company said on its support page.

The increase is the fourth for Peacock in four years, according to TechCrunch. The previous round of price increases, which added $3 to subscription costs, went into effect in July 2025, according to Variety. Other streaming services including Netflix $NFLX, HBO Max, Apple $AAPL TV, Paramount $PARA+, and YouTube Premium have also raised prices in the past two years.

The price increases come shortly after Peacock recorded its first profitable quarter. Peacock turned profitable for Q2 2026, closing out June with a paid subscriber base of 48 million after adding 2 million subscribers over the course of the quarter, according to Variety. TechCrunch reported that the NBA playoffs, FIFA World Cup, and "Love Island" were key factors behind the subscriber gains.

Last month, NBCUniversal announced a partnership to bring Peacock's Premium plan to YouTube Premium subscribers in the U.S. starting in early 2027.
