Eight employers made this year's list, judged on a rubric of objective measures, as well as what their own employees said about working there.

Eight companies made the 2026 Best Places to Work by Quartz list, which measures what employees say about the place they actually work.

Best Companies Group, an independent research firm, ran the assessment. Employers answered a questionnaire covering their policies, practices, and benefits. Their employees answered a separate confidential survey about day-to-day experience. The combined scores decided the list.

The companies below range from a 22-person marketing platform to a bank with more than 400 US employees. What they share is a workforce that rated them highly on leadership, culture, role satisfaction, and pay.

Santa Monica, California · 68 US employees

Represents employees in California workplace disputes, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and wage claims.

Jupiter, Florida · 24 US employees

Handles tax preparation, accounting, payroll, and CFO advisory work for small business owners and independent professionals.

Moorpark, California · 47 US employees

Designs and sells outdoor entertaining goods, from picnic baskets and coolers to barware and serveware.

Delray Beach, Florida · 120 US employees

A digital media company that builds and runs direct-to-consumer brands using marketing, engineering, and data science.

Bridgeport, West Virginia · 403 US employees

A West Virginia bank offering personal and business banking alongside financial services built for fintech companies.

Wilmington, Delaware · 61 US employees

Provides retirement planning, tax strategy, investment management, and estate planning to individuals, families, and business owners.

Los Angeles, California · 75 US employees

A search marketing agency running paid search, SEO, paid social, and conversion work for more than 250 clients.

San Diego, California · 22 US employees

Builds local SEO, IDX websites, and marketing tools for real estate agents and teams.

Companies needed at least 10 US employees and a year in business to enter. Organizations then went through a two-part survey process. The first survey evaluated each organization's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second measured the employee experience. Best Companies Group managed registration and the survey process, analyzed the data, and determined the final result.
